During the week of October 2, Howell Public Schools will celebrate Homecoming 2017. Below you will find information on the events planned for the week.

Spirit Week

This year, all schools in the district will be celebrating Homecoming 2017 with a Spirit Week. Below are the themes for each day. We will be showcasing photos of students participating in the spirit days on the district’s Facebook page. To submit a photo, visit the Howell Public Schools Facebook page at http://goo.gl/PQDg2N, and send us a message with the photo. Please send all photos in by 4 p.m. each day to ensure inclusion in that day’s photo album. You can also share your photos on Twitter using the hashtag #HighlanderHomecoming17.

Monday:   Hat Day

Tuesday: Camo Day

Wednesday:   Class Color Day

                        BK, K and 1st: Green

                        2nd and 3rd:   Gold

                         4th and 5th: White

Staff: Tie Dye

Thursday:   University of Michigan vs Michigan State

Friday:   Green vs. Gold Day!

Powder Puff Games

The annual Homecoming Powder Puff games will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

Pre-Game Food Truck Rally

The Howell High School Athletic Boosters have planned a Pre-Game Food Truck Rally. The rally will begin at 4 p.m. and run until kick-off at 7 p.m, outside of Memorial Stadium. The featured food trucks will be Tamale Rose (Mexican), Comfort Cuisine (Mediterranean), Pie Hole Pizza (Wood Fired Pizza) and Cherry Pit BBQ (Barbecue).


The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, October 6. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. at Family Video and head west down Grand River, ending at the Howell Library. The parade will feature students from each Howell school, marching bands, The Homecoming Court and various student groups.

Homecoming Game

The Howell Highlanders will take on the Canton Chiefs in this year’s homecoming game. The game will be held on Friday, October 6, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. A special halftime show will honor the 2017 Homecoming Court and include the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
